We’re here! We’re queer! We want to get married on the ocean!
— Arrested Development · 2003
Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The first two declarations establish presence and identity with a chant-like rhythm. The third turns that emphatic energy toward a very specific wish: marriage on the ocean. Its comic surprise comes from moving so quickly from broad affirmation to a particular wedding setting.
