This is the crack team that foils my every plan? I am deeply shamed.
— Buffy the Vampire Slayer • 1997
Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The speaker sarcastically expresses dismay that the group repeatedly spoiling their schemes looks so unimpressive. Calling them a 'crack team' is mockery, and the claim of deep shame stings twice: being beaten by them is humiliating, and the insult lands on the opponents too.
