Mal

Everybody dies, Tracey. Someone’s carryin’ a bullet for you right now, doesn’t even know it. The trick is, die of old age before it finds you.

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

Mal accepts death as inevitable but turns survival into a matter of outlasting a particular threat. The imagined bullet gives danger a personal destination even before anyone intends to fire it. Living to old age becomes the practical victory available within that bleak view.
