Look, you got a little stabbed the other day. That’s bound to make anyone a mite ornery.

Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
A wry, understated excuse for someone's bad mood. The speaker plays down being stabbed, calling it a little thing, and says it would leave anyone a bit cranky. The humour comes from the mild wording set against something serious.
