Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
Fry's instant, wallet-first surrender is a joke about launch-day hype, and it lands because he does it before anyone has told him the price. The phrase escaped the show completely and became the stock caption for any product, game or idea that people want so badly they would pay before hearing the details.

Spoilers for FuturamaShow the scene
In "Attack of the Killer App" (Futurama, season 6, aired July 1, 2010 on Comedy Central; written by Patric M. Verrone), the Planet Express crew sees a commercial for MomCorp's new eyePhone and decides to ditch their old gadgets. Leela says they will buy them "online", which Fry learns means queueing at the store across the city. At the Mom Store he gives in to the pitch with the line. The eyePhones turn out to be a data-harvesting scheme by Mom, and the episode ends with crowds trudging zombie-like to her store for the next model.
