‘Greased Lightning’ is my cell phone ringtone and I’ve been knocked out by a car door before, so I was really looking forward to recreating the reality of that moment on stage.

Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
Sam connects a ringtone and a past mishap to his eagerness to recreate a moment on stage. This is the character’s justification for a performance, not evidence that injury is necessary or advisable.
