German science is the best in the world!
— JoJo's Bizarre Adventure ‧ 2012
Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
Stroheim’s theatrical certainty is part of the joke: machinery and national pride do not make the experiment controllable. His boast belongs to the story’s dangerous militarist character.

In Battle Tendency, Stroheim boasts about German science during the experiments involving Santana. Episode 11 places his confidence beside a threat the laboratory cannot safely control; he later repeats variations on the boast. English versions use “science,” “technology,” “greatest” or “world’s finest,” rather than a single universal script.
