What it means

Our interpretation.

Joseph’s strategic retreat punctures the heroic expectation of standing still and fighting. His flair for surviving becomes as recognisable as his attacks.

Spoilers for JoJo's Bizarre AdventureShow the scene

After confronting Straizo in New York, Joseph’s next tactic is to run, pulling Smokey into the escape. The moment appears in chapter 50 and Battle Tendency episode 11. The card keeps the romaji meme and Smokey’s English name; “Run away, Smokey” and the Japanese-name transliteration “Sumoukii” are versions of the same cry.
