Dagda's goblin / Hellboy, Hellboy: Box Full of Evil #2 (1999)

Who are you? What's your name? / ... Anung Un Rama ... / PHAA! That's just words, boy. What do they mean? / I don't know.

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

A name imposed by prophecy is not the same thing as an identity understood or chosen. Hellboy can repeat the words but cannot supply their meaning. The goblin's questions open a gap between what others call him and the life he might decide to lead.
