Not so fast, you ingrates. Public News Team is taking a break from its pledge drive to kick some ass. No commercials; no mercy.
Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
The speaker announces a break from fundraising in order to threaten a fight. The closing pair of slogans gives an ordinary broadcasting distinction an aggressive counterpart: no commercials becomes no mercy. The humour comes from making a public news team's announcement sound like a battle declaration.
