The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn't a search for meaning.

Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
A nihilist speech delivered by the happiest character in the show, and the show leaves it there: Mr. Peanutbutter is the foil to BoJack's despair because he reaches the same bleak conclusion and treats it as good news. Fans quote it both as the sunniest philosophy on television and as a warning that cheerfulness can be a way of not looking.
