It’s been a big day, what with the abduction, and all.

Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
A day already crowded with trouble gets summed up with dry understatement. Tacking on 'and all' after mentioning an abduction downplays chaos as if it were routine. It's deadpan humor treating an extreme event like just another item on a list.
