Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

It is Hopper in one sentence: a burnt-out small-town cop who treats the morning as a ritual and anyone who wants business out of him before caffeine as an intruder. The joke is that the slacker is about to be proven wrong, and he is the one who takes Will's case seriously. Fans quote it as the polite version of not talking to me yet.
