Homer

Can't talk ... eating.

— The Simpsons  ·  1989

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

Homer can't chat because food has his full attention, so he trails off mid-sentence. Talking would only get in the way of eating. The joke is how casually he ranks a meal above any conversation at all.
