It will be mine. Oh yes. It will be mine.

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

It is every collector's dream in one line: the object is out of reach, and Wayne is entirely sure it will be his. Delivered with mock-epic hunger, the line plays the wish for a guitar as a quest for a treasure. Fans quote it for any big purchase they have been saving up to buy.

Spoilers for Wayne's WorldShow the scene

Wayne's World (1992). Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar host a public-access show from Wayne's parents' basement in Aurora, Illinois. While cruising in Garth's Mirthmobile, Wayne stops to gaze at a 1964 Fender Stratocaster in a shop window; the guitar is a dream he cannot yet pay for. When they visit the shop, he calls the white guitar Excalibur and kneels before it, and the attendant has a no-Stairway sign on the wall. Wayne eventually buys the Strat with the $5,000 that television producer Benjamin Kane pays him for the rights to the show.
