Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
It is Dougal's whole worldview in three words: everything is equally strange to him, from a miracle to a bus timetable, and he reports it with the same cheerful wonder. Fans use it for any absurd news, and An Post's stamp put it beside the show's other great catchphrases.

Spoilers for Father TedShow the scene
Dougal's flat, delighted verdict on whatever Craggy Island throws at him, usually said to Ted. Ardal O'Hanlon plays Dougal, the young, childlike priest of the parochial house. In 2020 An Post issued Father Ted stamps for the show's 25th anniversary, with four catchphrases: this one, Father Jack's ecumenical matter, Ted's money resting in his account and Mrs Doyle's tea offer. Fan wikis and Wikiquote do not pin it to one first episode, and Wikiquote files it under unsorted episodes, so no single scene is claimed here.
