Inside a lava-lit volcano lair, an enormous kilted Scotsman in a tweed jacket and tam looms over a tiny bald clone in a grey suit holding up a vial, a bald man silhouetted at the far end of the table.

Fat Bastard

I'm bigger than you! I'm higher on the food chain! Get in my belly!

Behind the line

What it means

Our interpretation.

A giant threatens a figure one-eighth his size and justifies it with a nature documentary, which is a very Austin Powers way to be menacing. The deadpan logic of the food chain gave quoters a fresh excuse to shout at smaller things, and fans repeat it, in the burr, at anything smaller than them.

Spoilers for Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged MeShow the scene

In The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999), Fat Bastard arrives at Dr. Evil's hollowed-out volcano to hand over the stolen mojo and be paid. His eye falls on Mini-Me, the clone Dr. Evil made at an eighth of his own size, and he decides it looks like a baby. He yells that he is going to eat the little figure, shouting that he is higher on the food chain. Mini-Me snatches the mojo sample from the table and Fat Bastard grumbles that he is lucky, before asking Dr. Evil for a hug.
