Behind the line
What it means
Our interpretation.
Dr. Evil has been a tyrant for the whole film and here he has a love song for a copy of himself at an eighth of the size. It borrows a romantic-film catchphrase and aims it at a clone in a miniature grey suit, which is the funniest and oddly the sweetest thing he does. Fans quote it as a dedication to a best friend, and Mini-Me became the series' breakout character on scenes like it.

Spoilers for Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged MeShow the scene
In Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999), Dr. Evil is told that Austin Powers is on his island and orders him brought to him alive. Then he calls for the music and performs a song with Mini-Me, his tiny clone played by Verne Troyer. The verses are Dr. Evil's complaint that his son Scott rejected him, and the chorus is a take on Will Smith's "Just the Two of Us". The line comes where he turns to Mini-Me. The scene is cut against Austin and Felicity making camp on the island, and Number Two ends it by praising him.
